On the 12th day of May, a group of kids from our school, as a few teachers, went on a 5 day long trip to the largest city of the UK, a place that everyone who has even little interest in the English culture heard of, called London. The whole trip was amazing and the beauty of that town cannot be described in hollow words, but I'm here to at least summarize it, and give you some kind of impression of London, that may make you want to visit it one day, maybe with the teachers and students of this school, maybe your family, or just simply your camera and the thirst for the literal English banter.
The first thing to note is that, as it's an Island, not that close to our country, the trip in the coach was a bit exhausting. It took around 30h, and after sitting on the coach with food that wasnt exactly healthy and stuffing, plus ferry, nobody was in their high spirits, that's the best way to put it. However, when we were already on our way to the capital city of the UK, not only our moods changed. We couldn't wait, so of course, finally being so close to our target definitely made the atmosphere change, but the way the streets, or even such simple things like fences looked, felt completely different. I can describe London as stunning. The views are beautiful, the are people of colour on the the streets, which is rather uncommon in Poland, and everyone was making lots of remarks about it. We visited a magnificent church, which was probably the favourite place of our schools principal, who gave us a history class during our time there. We also saw a typical English school boys, the students wearing uniforms, even during PE. We also got to see the Big Ben, and then the thing everyone was waiting for the famous London Eye. With both fear and excitement, everyone got on it with the teachers and got to see the ensemble of the city, which as you can already guess, was absolutely gorgeous. It was definitely a fun ride, but after all these things we were extremely exhausted, and spent the rest of the 13th May on dinner, and sleeping. The next day started off with watching the Buckingham Palace, the house of the Queen. There we experienced the known British weather, awful rain and wind, which didn't make the trip any worse, as we got to see the actual Queen there, even though it lasted 2 seconds. Then we kept wandering around the city, and got to use the tube. The whole experience was a bit shaky because we weren't used to it, but using a different form of moving around was nice. We also went to the National Gallery, and the Museum of Natural History. We also got a short break, that let us walk around the place alone. The third day started off with The Madame Tussauds Museum, which was founded by a wax sculptor. We saw lots of different celebrities there and everyone got a bunch of photos. The next part of our trip, unfortunately, also the last one before leaving the amazing city, was The Oxford Street. We got there free time as well, this time for longer. Everyone got a chance to take photos, shop, eat British food or just wander around and adore the ensemble of it. After this point, we had to quickly get ready and leave London, then run for the coach, ferry, and another hours spent in the coach. Even if the whole British experience is something not to be forgotten, as it was also really tiring for all of us, the drive was mostly spent on napping.
Although, this whole thing seems a little long and messy, which I'm truly sorry about, but even this cannot properly describe what we saw there. London is definitely the most wonderful city I've seen in my life, and I wish I could go there again. I think everyone should see it at some point, and I definitely recommend it to the ones fluent in English, I truly hope you all get to see it someday. Thank you for reading.
