Gimnazjum No. 8 in Rzeszów

Gimnazjum (a lower secondary school) has been a compulsory school for students aged 13 - 15 since 1999. There are three classes (1-3) in this type of school.
Nowadays 408 students, in 15 different classes, attend our school
The classes in our school start at 8 a.m. and finish at 2 p.m. every day.
34 qualified teachers are employed in our school.
Although the school building is not large, a friendly and homely atmosphere prevails in it.
There is a possibility of using the school canteen.
Our students learn foreign languages (English and German) at different levels.
Students with learning difficulties can attend free extra lessons from all the subjects taught in our school every week.
The school provides students with a possibility of joining various classes, clubs and groups free of charge. For example dance clubs, maths clubs, foreign languages clubs, theatre groups, a club for amateur photographers, art classes and regional clubs.
There is also a school cabaret, a Euroclub, an ecologist�s club, a young mathematician club and an Internet café.
Students can take part in sports, leisure-time and recreational activities.
Various school trips, campfires and school events are organised every year. For example a Foreign Language Theatre Contest, a Christmas Crib Contest, a Chess Tournament, sports tournaments and inaugural meetings for first class students.
In order to ensure the cooperation between our school and our students� parents, the parents-teacher meetings or �open days� are held every month.
The democratically chosen students� union organises discos, a student�s day and a sport day.
The school has been cooperating with different organisations, such as a group of AK soldiers, a veterans� house and an orphanage.
We are looking for schools, which would be interested in the cooperation with our school in SOKRATES and COMENIUS programme.
We are interested in the participation in running different projects with other schools.
